I would love to go to Kenya in September or October this year. Which month has the best weather. Also would I need to take items of hold luggage ( one for safari + one for beach) ? Never travelled alone before so am quite nervous about this, but Africa is my dream!

Hi Babs, I went to Kenya in September 2011 and it was in the high 20's. It was cool at night whilst at the lodge as it was quite breezey, also cool on the early morning game drives. You will need a holdall with luggage for the safari and your suitcase with beach luggage stays in secure room at Mombassa Airport until it is sent to the hotel in time for your arrival after the safari. One thing to be aware is that the drive from the Mombassa to the Lodge is about 4 hours - best to be aware of this so you know what to expect. You will see some animals though whilst driving through the park. It was a fabulous holiday and also my first travelling alone, I too was nervous but everybody was friendly and there was a mixture of ages. I am going to Thailand in 2 weeks and again nervous but very excited!!!!!!! Go for it and i'm sure you won't regret it as you see some amazing things on Safari.
