Hi Peter

Thanks for your comments.

When I fly from Jersey to the UK I always use British Airways. As strange as it may seem, when I compare the FINAL COST including any extras for baggage etc and taxes and payment by card, I find that BA usually are cheaper. Just looking at the headline rate bears no resemblance to the actual cost.

Hi,

I was wondering about this as well, since I am flying Flybe from Inverness to Gatwick in April. I have been told by very helpful customer services that no matter which airline is used JY always pay for hold and cabin luggage, in my case 20Kg hold and 7Kg cabin. That goes quite a way to covering the higher fare charged by JY which sounds to me like a good idea.

Gets round the budget airline luggage handicaps!

Thanks Ben. I thought so. I was just wondering, but can confirm that sometimes flying from regiojnal airports is more convenient even though you may end up paying for a meal!

Good morning Jaya,

Thanks for getting in touch, OK, I didn't know the answer to this so have been and sat with our aviation team to find out more for you.

Our tour costs are based on scheduled carriers from London Heathrow or London Gatwick and these fares are fixed at point of confirmation, however with regional passengers we offer them local departures with low cost airlines at a supplement as the fares are not guaranteed nor fixed and constantly fluctuate.

Also with regional passengers we have to put on additional transfers therefore this is the reason for supplements. Even though low cost carriers charge less, the fares for our groups tend to be much lower than these carriers generally. The meals are complimentary with scheduled carriers, however with low cost airlines this is not an option included and is available upon purchase at passengers own expense as we do not pay any additional for our groups with scheduled carriers.

I hope this answers your question,

Kindest,

Ben

Hi Ben

I wonder why Just You charges a supplement for flying Easy Jet from the local airport - I presumed that Easy Jet fares were always lower than the scheduled flights plus you do not get any included refreshments on Easy Jet flight. Just You charged £38 extra to fly Easy Jet from Luton to Tel Aviv. I was informed by passengers who flew out from Heathrow that they were treated to a sumptious meal on their flight! Mind you I had to pay another £70 on top of £38 as I wanted to fly out earlier than the main tour.
