On a recent trip to South Africa of the 24 travellers, 6 of us 'met' on the forum before we went. It really did help with breaking the ice. I wonder if JY could include a leaflet with the Information pack explaining what the Community is?

I posed the question as I met no-one on my recent trip - 39 travelling - who had used the forum.

I've been on 4 JY holidays and never heard anyone in any of the groups mention the Forum. I visit it from time to time to see what other people have thought of the holidays I've been on in the past and also to check out holidays I might like to do in the future.

Hi im new too. Going on my first JY holiday to Spain in May nxt year. K.

I am unable to log on each day let alone several times a day though would like to! But I do try and log on at least once a week or more if I get a chance. I find the forum very useful and like reading other people's opinions.

:)Hi I am new to JY booked my first adventure for April America's Golden West. I enjoy the Forum, It has given me an idea of what to expect on my holiday from travellers who have already been on this particular trip. Also it gives ideas of other trips I may be considering in the future.

SOME PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE ON IT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY BUT THEN I REALLY DO NEED TO GET A LIFE OR HAVE MORE HOLIDAY'S.

Having done 8 holidays most people on the tours do NOT use the community boards for one reason or another. My Mum's partner (she died 2 years ago) has been on 3 JY tours but would never think of going online, he just gets me to post the odd question here and there, if I did'nt he would not think of useing the boards, but I have met much older people than me who log in quite often, not always to post but to keep an eye on things. I do know that people who have asked questions etc who I have met on tours have really liked the set up.

Thanks for getting in touch, I hope you had a nice trip.

Sadly, I cannot see how many people are active at any given time, I can perhaps get a few stats together but they wouldn't be overly reliable I don't think, many people use the forum in the run up to a trip, then not again, some use it daily to socialise, many others, join once and never use it again, it's very hard to say.

I wonder if you are able to say what proportion of JY travellers use the forum. It seemed to be a very low number on my recent trip.
