Anni,

Ive got the same situation next month, am doing Route 66 and only 5 month on my passport. Have checked the American embassy and British Foreign office and as long as your passport is valid for the length of your stay its ok.

here are the links to them sites to look yourself :-

Good afternoon Anni,

thanks very much for getting in touch, you actually only need 3 months left on your passport after the return date of your holiday for the USA (Mainland only excl Hawaii & Carribbean) so the latest return date of a holiday would be 13th July 2013.

I hope this helps,

Kindest,

Ben

Thanks Ben, that's great, just hoping now, that JY still does the holiday I want to do!

Hi Ben

Am thinking about another USA holiday for next year, but my passport runs out on the 7th October 2013, as does my ESTA, what's the latest date I could go on holiday, so that I could still use my old passport etc? I know that America is very strict and that you have to have at least 6 months left on your passport, when you return home from your holiday.

Cheers ~ Anni
