I'm one of the 18 doing this holiday, one of the 7 doing the extension and I'm the 40 year old (although I'll be turning 41 on the day we fly to Zambia!).

It should be an amazing trip - please don't worry about anything, from the moment we meet at the airport there will always be someone helping you with where to go and when. The reps are superb at looking after us and making sure no one gets left behind (unless they want to of course). 18 is a lovely group size - not too small but not too big.

Just a little less than two months to go - and counting!

Good afternoon Chris,

Thanks for your post, your Tour Manager is a wonderful lady called Trish Ward, she will meet you at Heathrow and will travel with you from start to finish.

There are currently 18 fellow travellers on the main tour with 7 travellers taking the add on. Ages on the add on range from 40 - 65. Excursions are to be paid in cash, South African Rand.

Hi, I'm also booked on the S. Africa Explorer + add on for Sept 27th. Very excited but a bit apprehensive. How many of us will there be? Male/female ratio etc.

Who will be our tour manger? Will they be on-hand to guide us through Joh'an airport, as there is no direct flight now to Cape Town.

As most of excursions can't be pre-booked and paid for, do we pay for them on site in cash only or can they be paid by card?

I've received my information pack but it does not mention a full day Safari at Kruger. Is that still an option as well as the half day safari?

Also, I understand that our flight details will have to change due to South African Airways cancelling direct flights to Cape Town from August. Are we likely to get informed of the new flight information before our final paperwork arrives?

I've received my Information Pack for this holiday however it only mentions a half day Kruger Game Drive. Could you find out please if there will be a full day game drive available?

Also, the travel arrangements show us flying direct to Cape Town which I believe will not be possible after August. Will we be notified of the new flight arrangements before our final information pack is sent out?

Yvonne, you will have a wonderful time - I did this tour last Sept. Make sure you do as many of the optional excursions as you can - especially on the add on. I did the helicopter ride over the Victoria Falls - amazing! You can also do a microlite which would be more scary/exillarating but if you want to take photos the chopper ride would be better. The day trip to Botswana (Chobe National Park) was wonderful, as was the sunset cruise on the Zambezi. Enjoy!
