I have travelled long haul with JY to Kenya, USA a few times and also in January 2012 to Hong Kong and New Zealand, thats a very LONG way!!!!!.. I did not up grade I travelled in the cheap seats ha ha ha, but it was fine.. there were I think 3 people who went up to the next grade on the New Zealand tour, so yes they did check in seperatley to us and were not near us but this was not a problem, also I do know that on Long Haul you are normally in the VIP lounge all of you, but if you up grade I assume?? that your in same VIP lounge on way out, in the cheap seats you dont get VIP lounge on way back just on way out. So I don't know if you upgrae if you get VIP lounge on way back?? which would seperate you then.

Have a great tour on Route 66 it does seem very popular. I would say after going to Autralia in 2007 and New Zealand this year I think my fear of flying might be going..

Have Fun

Cindy

Thanks Olly and thanks Cindy

I never thought about what you said Cindy. I am a terrible flyer hence the upgrade. I might feel more comfortable with the upgrade especially on the return flights the seats fold down a lot more so for the first time on an plane I might actually be able to sleep. I suppose once we are seats I may chat to whoever I'm sitting next to even if they ate not a JY traveller.

I shall see what happens nearer the flight and look forward very nervously to my first long haul flight. I'm sure as always I will be fine once we have taken off.

Just a thought I love to go on tours 8 with JY but I am not a happy flyer!!!! so I am always happy to be on my own with my fear so to speak..

So please take that on board you might wish to sit next to someone who is travelling with JY and I hasten to say they might be very happy to sit with a fellow traveller, but everybody is different on a flight,

This is of course the way I feel I am sure many more feel like you do.

Cindy

Hi Paul

We can certainly make the request for you. The best thing to do is call our holiday advisors and let them know you would like to sit with the other upgraded passenger. Ultimately the decision is the airline's but we will arrange this for you if we can.

Regarding your other question, there is usually a dedicated check-in desk for business class so you won't have to queue with the rest of the group. But it might be a good idea to go and say hello to the tour manager before you check in. You will have plenty of time to get to know the group in the executive lounge, so you might as well enjoy the perk of a speedy check-in!

Kind regards

Olly, your editor

Hi Olly

I've just made another payment on my trip and I asked if there was anyone else who had booked a flight upgrade for the 8th October trip. I was told there was and I was wondering about seating arrangements for the flight. Would it be possible for us both to sit together rather than be on our own? Also I believe we can book in without having to queue and I was wondering if this is best for us or should we go to the normal booking desk so we can meet the tour guide and other travellers.

Thanks

Paul
