Hi LesleyI believe Expedition and Vistadome are two different trains so it wouldn't just be like upgrading to first class - you would need to take a different train. I don't think there is much difference anyway.I'm afraid avatars are gone for the time being - our web developer says they were lost when we upgraded software recently. Perhaps they will come back next time we do this. Not long to go now - very exciting!Kind regards,Olly, your editor

Hi Olly,
I checked it out & you are right - 2 different trains. From the pictures it looks like it will be easy to see the passing countryside. That's okay then - at least we won't be travelling with the llamas in 'Freight' ....
It's a pity about the avatars - I feel I have 'lost' my identity. At least I still have my 'angel'
Best wishes,
Lesley
I have just heard back from my colleague - you will be travelling on the Expedition train.
Regarding the electricity, I'm sure that is correct if the paperwork says so. Facilities in Peru can be fairly basic but I expect you will find a few sockets along the way - certainly in Lima.
Kind regards
Hi Bridget JaneI'm trying to find out for you at the moment, but I don't think it will make a lot of difference - whichever train you get the views are amazing!Kind regards,Olly, your editor

If there are 2 classes, might this be like the Red Leaf & Gold Leaf on the Rocky Mountaineer? If so, I would prefer to go on the better class if possible.
I too am really looking forward to this trip. Bring it on!
PS:- still no photo avatars - Why?
many thanks,
Bridget
I have discovered that the train from Cuzco up to Machu pichu has two classes, 'Vistadome' and 'Expedition' class. Both seem realy good but it would be interesting to know which one we are booked on for this trip.
The more I research this holiday the more excited I am getting. Not long now!! I look forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Bridget:thumbup:
