Hi Steph,

Hope I can help, I did this trip last September/October, I took a soft sports type bag for the safari and a middle size suitcase for the 2nd hotel, all that was in the suitcase was extra tops/underwear/socks which I would need later, all you really need at the safari are your clothes for each day and a change when you get back for the evening, your bag doesn't go on the mini bus each day you leave it in your room, oh not forgetting your camera/binoculars/anti mozzie stuff and toiletries, you end up taking most of your stuff to the park, if you take a small back pack as your hand luggage you can use that during the day in the park.

I hope you see this before you go and I hope it puts your mind at ease, have a great trip (I know you will).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP MARTIN - Steph

Can I just make a suggestion as Olly says you must do what you feel is best.

The soft holdall is for the safari part, the jeeps do not have much room in them and it's a very long drive to the hotel. So space all round is tight thats why a smaller case for each person is better they go in the back of the jeep but NOT much room, Also there is not room in the jeep for everyone to have much STUFF just a backpack is about it. Take my word when your on the game drive you want as little as possible as you are up and down looking out the top so do not take anything you dont need in the jeep.

Also when your at the safari hotel as your sharing a room these are not big rooms to have lots of stuff in you really do need just want you want for them few days.

Leave all the other clothes etc for the 2nd hotel in the other case then you don't have to worry about all that stuff.

If your only allowed the one case I would just pack the few bits you need on safari into a holdall inside the BIG CASE then just remove that at the airport. Its very low key with clothes etc on safari so not much is required.

If I can help at all with anything just ask.OK. I wish you well it is a fantastic holiday and the animals are amazing.

Hi Steph

You can do it that way if you prefer. The reason for this system is to cut down on luggage for the safari part of the holiday as space in the vehicles is limited. But it also means you have less to carry around with you.

Kind regards

Olly, your editor

Sorry if I am being a bit THICK, but I am still not quite understanding the LUGGAGE situation. I have come to the conclusion that I might as well just pack everything in a soft holdall which I suppose means it would all go on the truck each day. Would that be OK? I don't want to mess around with two bags at the ariport either, or risk wanting something that is packed elsewhere during the holiday. Having never done anything like this before, I am still a bit unsure of the procedures.
