On reading the guide book,it states that one of the ways to prevent mosquito bites is to sleep under a net.In the high risk zones ie Kruger, will the accommodation we stay in provide nets.If not is it advisable to take your own net.
Hi Lotty,
I did this holiday last September/October and can confirm none of the places we stayed at provided any nets at that time of year.
I took and would recommend a plug in mosquito repellent in your room and a good spray repellent for yourself. I used mosiguard which was very effective and I know I may have been lucky but I didn't get biten the whole holiday. In addition I wore mosquito repellent wrist bands on both arms for the whole holiday. I changed them regularly about every 4 days. They are readily available on Amazon and cheap to buy.
Don't forget your South African plug adapter if you do take a plug in repellent.
By the way it was a wonderful holiday so just enjoy it and forget about the mosquito's.
