Good news: your bags will be checked through at Munich so after you check them in at Heathrow, you won't have to deal with them again until you get to Beijing.

Most flights for this holiday are direct with Air China but sometimes we use other airlines, such as Lufthansa.

Don't worry, it's not a silly question. If both flights are with Lufthansa it's likely that your luggage will be checked through for you (but not certain).

Has there been a change of airline for China. I thought that it was a direct flight from Heathrow to Beijing with Air China. However, it looks like Georgie is flying from Heathrow via Munich with Lufthansa. I hope someone is there to help with transfers, the only german words that I know are Achtung and Stalag. Too many war films!!

This is all going to sound VERY silly :blush: , but I'm off to China on the 6th September and there are two flights - Heathrow to Munich then Munich on to Beijing (both are with Lufthansa). Will I have to collect and then check in my luggage again once I get to Munich or is it checked through ?!?!? I'm sure it's all very straightforward and the check in desk at Heathrow will advise me, but my brain has gone into panic mode and I have this fear I'll forget!
