Thanks a million for the info Lesley, hopefully our paths will cross on a holiday sometime! Really glad you enjoyed the holiday, it sounds brilliant! Now I just have to wait for the 2012 brochure to come out.....
Hi,

I have just been to on the Wonder of China trip. No you do not have to use chopsticks.

Chopsticks are put by your plate, but so is a spoon and fork as of course you can't eat soup with chopsticks (unless you are very, very clever).

Enjoy your holiday - no need to pack your own knife and fork.

Best wishes,

Lesley

Thanks Olly, helped to put my mind at rest!
Hello

I would expect knives and forks to be available on both of these holidays. In my experience, Chinese people don't usually expect Westerners to be able to use chopsticks. Perhaps some other Community users who have been to this part of the world recently can confirm?

If you are at all unsure, by all means pack a knife and fork - just make sure it goes in your hold luggage and not your hand luggage.

Kind regards

Olly, your editor

Hi Olly,

I'm hoping to do the Wonder of China trip next year and plan to do the Vietnam and Thailand hols in due course and was wondering at mealtimes do we get the option of using knife and fork or would it be chopsticks all the way in all three countries? If so, would there be a problem if I brough my own knife and fork with me? I've tried chopsticks before and can't handle them!!
