Hotel standards are extremely high in South Africa. All rooms feature private facilities and are air-conditioned where appropriate.

As far as the Mosquito net is concerned if it makes you feel more comfortable then I'd take one along you have nothing to loose, you can always use it at home if you dont find a use for it on holiday.

I'm booked on the South African Explorer trip in September which I'm really looking forward to. Having just established that the tour includes several days in mosquito territory I have been taking medical advice re malaria tablets, insect repellent etc. Can you please confirm whether or not rooms in hotels in the mosquito area are either air conditioned or screened. I have been advised that if one or other of these is not guaranteed, I should take a mosquito net.
