We don't give any specific guidelines on the size of the bag you should take - the main thing is that it is soft-sided and not too big.
I would say a bag about 20-24 inches long would be about right.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We've had some problems with the website but everything is running smoothly again now.
You'll want some shorts, t-shirts and comfortable shoes for the days, but it can be chilly in the evenings and mornings so I would make sure you pack something a little warmer too - a jumper and some linen trousers should be fine.
Kind regards

Can you advise what kind of things we should expect to pack in our Safari holdall? I'm concerned about fitting the right things in for such a small space. Obviously, matching shoes and handbag don't need to be a consideration but amount and type of clothing?
Haven't book yet but wanted to get some questions out of the way first. Hopeing to go in 2010.
Thanks so much in advance,
Something similar to cabin luggage size will be fine, like a small hold-all or rucksack.
This might sound silly but what size of small bag.is it cabin luggage size.
Yes, that's correct. Because space is limited on the safari, we ask you to also take a smaller, soft-sided bag that won't take up so much space. We'll keep the rest of your luggage safe in Mombasa for the second part of your holiday.
I hope this explains things for you.
I am booked on the Nov 09 trip to Kenya. A bit confused about the message regarding luggage. Do we leave some of our luggage in Mombassa on arrival and take a limited amount onto Tsavo? Also anyone else yet booked on this one?
We advise having two bags because space is very limited on the safari, particularly in the transport you will use.
Personally, I would take a normal suitcase on the flight from the UK, with the soft sided bag packed inside, then take out the soft bag for the safari. This will also mean you don't have to lug all of your things around on safari.
I'm planning on only taking one soft sided bag with me and not leaving a second bag for the Mobabsa bit of the tour. Do you think this would be acceptable? It seems that the others I am in touch with are transferring stuff into a "safari" bag at Mombasa. Help please!!!
