Thanks Cheryl.
Hi Gail,

Dont worry about asking me anything, I dont mind at all!

I have done abit of researching into all of the hotels you will be staying at and every room has a safe to keep your money tucked away. I normally take enough cash to last me a few days and then i will use my card to change some more. That way, you wont be taking too much cash around with you as a precaution. As I said, this is just my preference. Different methods of paying suit different people.

I hope this is of some help to you. If you need to know anything else, please get in touch.

Kind regards,

Cheryl, your editor

Hello again Cheryl

Sorry to keep labouring the point! When you say you prefer to take local Chinese Yuan, do you take all local currency? If so, doesn't that pose a problem on where to keep it safely given that we will be travelling around quite a lot.

Thanks.

Gail

Hi Gail,

When I say cash, I mean Chinese local currency which you can change before you depart. This is just my personal preference as I like to take cash on holiday. However there are other options listed below such as travellers cheques, credit cards etc.

I hope this is of help to you, If you need any other information on China, please ask..that is what I am here for!

Kind regards,

Cheryl, when you say cash, do you mean UK Sterling, US Dollars or the Chinese Remninbi (sorry don't think I've spelt this right!)?
Hi Jan,

The average temperatures in September range between 27-29 degrees, with night time lows of 19-20 degrees. Autumn is the best season to visit as summer months can reach 35 degrees and winter months can have lows of only 10 degrees. So I think september is a great choice!

Dress throughout your holiday will be casual. So baring in mind the warm temperatures, I would pack light comfortable clothing such as linen trousers, vest tops, shorts, t-shirts etc.

Cash is king in China, so it is best to be prepared and get your local currency before you travel for most expenses. This holiday is full board and includes all meals, transfers and excursions...so it is really up to you how much money you take with you. You will only need it for souveniers and times when you may choose to break off from the group and do your own thing.

There are ATM's available in all tourist areas and travellers cheques are available in most airports, banks, large department stores and hotels (hotels can sometimes give you better rates than cash).

I think your best option is to take cash with you, this way you can control what you spend and change it back if you dont spent it all.

I hope this helps, if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Many thanks,

I have booked the Yangstze gorges holiday leaving 27/09/08. What clothing will I require at that time of year in that part of China please? The holiday is full board and one of your reps on a Discovery Weekend said that one would not need much money but I have no idea of how much to take. Can you help please?
