Hi Cheryl, Thanks for the info, that has put my mind at rest. It's my first holiday on my own so begining to panic a bit but looking forward to some Sunshine and meeting new people.

Annie

Hi Annie,

Currency in Northeren Cyprus is Turkish Lira (TL). These rates fluctuate daily so I would keep an eye on this before you go. Most businesses accept main foreign currencies such as the Euro, sterling pounds, US Dollars and Cyprus pounds. Major international credit and charge cards are accepted by hotels, restaurants and shops. Most major banks have ATM'S which also accept main credit and chage cards.

My advice would be to wait and change your money when you get to Cyprus as the exchange rate is much better over there so you will get alot more for your money.

I hope all of this information helps. If I can help you with anything else, please let me know.

Warm wishes,

Cheryl, your editor

Hi Cheryl

I'm going to Northern Cyprus in October and wonder if you could just advise me on the currency. I have read that the north is Turkish lira but the Cyprus pound is also accepted everywhere. It also says that these currencies aren't easily available to exchange until you get there and no ATM's in the north.Could you please advise me on whats best to do as I don't want to be without cash.

Many Thanks

Annie
