Thanks - don't need to worry so much about spending money now that I know most meals included!

Regards and thank you for your assistance.

Sue

Hi Sue

Most of your meals are provided on this holiday. Almost every day is half board, which normally means breakfast and dinner, but sometimes breakfast and lunch. So on most days you will need a little money for lunch. I would allow £5 a day for lunch plus a little extra for any snacks and soft drinks - maybe about £75-£100 for the whole trip?

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Dear Olly - Thanks for your response. Just received my final documentation and have a couple of queries. Phone number is not being answered, so wondered if you can tell me what we do about meals on this trip? I'm assuming we have to buy our own meals but there is no guidance about where, likely cost, etc. Thanks.
Hi Sue

You'll be pleased to hear that there has been a slight change to the itinerary and the visit to Table Mountain is now included on Day 2 of your holiday, rather than being part of the optional excursion on Day 4. The visit is subject to weather conditions, and we advise you to pack your camera in your hand luggage, as the plan is to visit soon after landing in Cape Town.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Thanks for your reply, although I'm not happy that I have to pay for all excursions in local currency! You do not list cable car ride up Table Mountain - is that not being offered now?
Hi Sue

I'm afraid you will need to pay in cash in the local currency, which is South African rand.

I've copied in the provisional list of optional tours below, so you can work out roughly how much cash you will need. If you are uncomfortable with carrying a lot of cash, you could use your credit or debit card to withdraw cash while you are in South Africa. If you are going to do this, it's a good idea to check with your bank if your card is suitable.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Awaiting confirmation of optional excursions, but will I be able to pre book and pay in advance for any of these? If I book once I am in South Africa, can the cost be charged to credit or debit card? Paying with local currency uses up a lot of planned spending money.
