May have found a way to resolve it - found a bag that will squash into my suitcase, so can pack safari stuff in that and take it out when reach Mombasa! Why didn't I think of that before!

If you can fit everything you need into one medium (soft-sided) bag, I'm sure that will be OK. But this would mean you having to carry everything on safari, rather than just the things you need for those few days, so taking a second bag might be a better option for protecting your shoulder.

Just wondering if it is essential to have 2 bags for the 'Magic of Kenya' trip next week 30th sept. I have a dodgy shoulder and may find 1 medium bag easier to handle as got to transfer coaches etc.
