Hi Janice

So far 19 people have booked the 3 October departure. You may be able to get in touch with some of them through the Community.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Hi,

Just to let you know, I have decided not to book Kenya just yet. However I have decided to do Austrian Lakes in Oct. In fact I booked it yesterday.

I'm staying at a hotel near Gatwick the night before which JY has arranged for me. Would be interested to hear if any other travellers are booked too.

Thanks,

Janice

Hi Janice

The flight goes from Mombasa via Nairobi so I expect you would get off there. You would need to contact the orphanage to let them know you are coming but we would take you there and bring you back when you want to leave. This would all be included in the price I quoted. If you can let me know your booking reference I will ask my colleague to give you a ring and discuss the detail with you. He has been to the orphanage and says it is amazing!

I wouldn't worry too much about the ash cloud - I'm sure things will be fine by then.

Kind regards,

Hi Olly,

Just had another look at the Kenya holiday and I note flights go to and from Mombasa. How would I get to Nairobi at the end of the trip and does the extra cost include this?

The trip I have been looking at is Magic of Kenya, ref SMKENKQ departing 13/10/10. Would I have to contact the elephant orphanage myself or would JY arrange this for me?

Thanks for your help and advice. Incidently, I have travelled this past 2 years with yourselves and always had a fabulous holiday.

Janice

Hi Olly,

That's great news. I have not actually booked a holiday yet. I was supposed to be in Australia staying with friends but unfortunately my dept date was 17th April when flights were grounded. When flights became available there was no accomodation in Singapore where I had planned to stay for 3 nights en route. You can imagine my disappointment,so much so that I have been frightened to book anything else. I'd love to go away Oct time with JY but still worried about further cancellations due to the volcanic ash.

Janice

Hi Janice

Sorry about the delay - we're having ongoing technical problems at the moment.

The good news is that you can see your elephant by extending your stay. The day after your group depart we will take you to the orphanage for as long as you want. That night, we would take you back to Nairobi, then on to the airport at about 8pm. The extra cost would be £225, based on b&b accommodation.

If you are interested, let me know your booking reference and we will be in touch.

Kind regards

Hi,

On any of the Kenya holidays, is there an opportunity to visit the elephant orphanage in Nairobi? I "foster" a baby elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust so it would be a shame to miss out seeing her.

If the JY schedule does not permit this, would it be possible to fly home a day or two later with accomodation in Nairobi at an extra cost.

Thank you,

Janice.
