Morocco is one of the more liberal Islamic societies so you won’t need to cover your hair or anything like that. It is more polite to dress modestly but you will be fine in t-shirts and knee-length (or longer) skirts. You’ll need to cover shoulders and legs and remove your shoes if you are visiting a mosque.

As for money, you can only get dirhams within Morocco. We recommend you take your spending money in sterling or euros and change it there (£1 = about 15 dirhams). Bear in mind it is illegal to export Dirhams from the country. Travellers’ Cheques can only be exchanged at banks. Alternatively, use your credit card (Visa and Mastercard are most widely accepted).

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

I would like to know if there are any do's and dont's to ladies dressing in Morocco? Also as you cannot get currency before you go is it easy to change UK pounds on arrival? - someone mentioned taking euros but that would mean two lots of commission.
